Performance Lab Mind Review: What does this nootropic do?
Performance Lab Mind is an all natural nootropic from Performance Lab. This nootropic is claimed to deliver both long and short term benefits, while still being stripped back enough so that Performance Lab Mind will work with any stack.
There are already plenty of positive Performance Lab Mind nootropic reviews out there, but how does it perform compared to other brain supplements?
Before we get into that, we should mention Performance Lab Mind only has 4 ingredients, which is low compared to other nootropics, but is still claimed to help promote:
- Brain Energy
- Mental Agility and Focus
- Reaction Time
- Improved Brain and Neural Structure
- Effective Memory and Recall
- Blood Flow to Your Brain
- Stress-Resistance and Working Under Pressure
Despite the low ingredient count, Performance Lab Mind can still hold its own as a cognitive enhancer, and can work well for general brain health.

Performance Lab Mind: The Ingredients
The Performance Lab Mind formula has one of the better combinations of ingredients that we’ve seen in a nootropic supplement stack.
Although there are only a few ingredients in this formula, they’re great for brain power, brain function and general cognitive enhancement.
Mind’s ingredients are all clinically backed and the perfect addition to any nootropic supplement stack. They also have a few patented blends in there which are enhanced and studied for maximum effectiveness.
Here is the full list of ingredients in this nootropic:
+ Citicoline (as Cognizin®) – 250 mg
+ Phosphatidylserine (as Sharp-PS® Green) – 100 mg
+ N-Acetyl L-Tyrosine – 300 mg
+ Maritime Pine Bark Extract (Pinus Pinaster) – 75 mg
Citicoline (Cognizin®) – 250mg
Citicoline is an effective cholinergic which can help promote your overall focus and memory in a nootropic. It does this by helping to raise your acetylcholine levels which is your brain’s main neurotransmitter.
This can give you support for healthy brain cell formation and membrane, energy, focus, memory and general cognition.
Cognizin, which is the version used in Mind has been seen in studies to help promote brain energy by up to 13.6%. It can also help brain membrane by 26%. Citicoline is a quality ingredient for brain boosting.
Phosphatidylserine (Sharp-PS® Green) – 100mg
Phosphatidylserine is an effective option for brain function, it can support mood, memory, and general mental clarity. Phosphatidylserine makes up around 15% of the fats in your brain – supplementing more can be a great support.
Regular supplementation of this nootropic can also help reduce cognitive decline while promoting general brain development, like the maintenance of brain cell membranes.
The version in this nootropic is Sharp-PS® Green Phosphatidylserine which is soy-free, non-GMO and generally cleaner and easier for your brain to absorb and use.
You’re essentially giving your brain more of fat that it already has to improve overall memory retention, focus, brain development and general cognitive performance from this nootropic.
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine – 300mg
N-Acetyl-L-Tyrosine (NALT) is an effective amino acid for handling stress and anxiety in high pressure situations.
This nootropic is a great addition to Mind given as it can help regulate and manage your levels of the stress hormone cortisol. When your cortisol levels are spiked you’re more stressed and it can become harder to concentrate.
L-Tyrosine has been seen to promote feel-good hormones in your brain supporting focus and memory retention during high stress, sleep deprivation and other high-pressure situations. It’s a key nootropic for mental performance.
Maritime Pine Bark Extract (95% extract) – 75mg
Maritime Pine Bark is a potent antioxidant which can give your brain health both short and long term benefit.
It contains proanthocyanidin compounds which can help your mental performance as well as learning and focus. Over time it also helps with memory and mental clarity as a long term benefit.
This is all possible by how the antioxidant can cross your blood-brain barrier and neutralize toxic-free radicals. This nootropic also helps nitric oxide levels which improves overall blood flow to your brain.
Performance Lab Mind Formula: Ingredient Summary
PLab Mind is perfect if you’re looking for the foundation of the best nootropic stack. Although it doesn’t have everything a perfect stack needs, like Bacopa Monnieri or Rhodiola Rosea, you can’t argue with the foundation of the Performance Lab Mind formula.
It’s the first step to great cognitive enhancement. Citicoline, Phosphatidylserine, Tyrosine and Martime Pine Bark offer the core benefits for brain boosting and with stellar ingredient quality in this supplement.
It’s great for cognitive performance and keeping you focused. However, although it helps focus, we also appreciate how this nootropic supports long term brain health with the Martime Pine Bark – which can help overall mental performance.
Promoting brain cell health and maintenance of brain cells is often overlooked in nootropics. They’re usually more focused on fast results and not much thought of your general brain.
We’re impressed that Performance Lab Mind is set up to support brain cell health and brain development as well as general cognition when using this nootropic.
I personally use this nootropic in my daily supplement stack, along side a variety of other supplements to boost my mental and physical performance. I feel it is the perfect combination of supplements to help fight brain fog as well as make me effective and productive in my work, exercise and every day lifestyle.
I’ll cover more on the benefits I get from Mind, as well as what I combine it with in the next section.
My Experience: Performance Lab Mind and Productivity Stack
Performance Lab Mind is my favorite nootropics supplement, and there are several reasons why.
Although this nootropic doesn’t have all the ingredients that you would see in a more full-spectrum nootropic like Mind Lab Pro, it allows for a lot of customization which I really enjoy.
Before we get started, let me run you through what I stack with this nootropic:
+ Performance Lab Mind – All Purpose Nootropic
+ Performance Lab Stim – Morning Caffeine Support
+ Performance Lab Energy – Afternoon Caffeine-Free Energy Stack
+ Performance Lab MCT – Healthy Dietary Fats
+ Performance Lab Sleep – Rest and Recovery Stack
I actually take the Performance Lab multivitamin too – but I don’t really count that as a ‘stack’ that’s a just a general health boost.
I take 2 capsules of this nootropic with Performance Lab Stim first thing in the morning a spoonful of MCT oil. The fat of the MCT oil really helps with absorption and I can add it to pretty much anything I want like a coffee or smoothie.
This kicks my day off really strong, the caffeine and L-Theanine stack from PLab Stim gives a stimulating aspect to the nootropic stack which is great for getting ‘tapped in’ immediately into work first thing in a morning. It’s great starting off with such clarity and energy which helps you get a lot done before lunchtime.
I’m focused on Performance Lab Mind, there’s no brain fog and I feel I can just sit down at the computer with plenty of energy and just work.
After a lunch break is when I take Performance Lab Energy. I only like using caffeine in the morning, so using a decaffeinated stack like that is always a good way to keep you constantly feeling productive and unstoppable during work.
That also keeps me in the zone, right through work and into my afternoon workout, which is typically weight training followed by some light cardio.
I finish the day with Performance Lab Sleep stack. It contains natural melatonin via tart cherries and I find it knocks me out cold until the next morning leaving me feeling refreshed.
I’ve been running this stack with this nootropic for almost a year, I have experienced no side effects and have even ran a month without it to see if there is any differences or placebo effect. As far as I can tell there isn’t, it’s been the real deal for me.
Should You Take This Stack?
If you want total brain and body optimization – yes. However, if you’re just looking for a cover-all-bases nootropic – go with Mind Lab Pro.
It depends how serious you are about nootropics and supplements in general. I find Performance Lab Mind really works for me. I’ve tried Mind Lab Pro, and liked the results for brain function, but I love to customize my stacks.
The ability to stack this nootropic with the other products together really helps me here – it feels more like a productivity stack rather than a nootropic stack. If you just want a full-spectrum nootropic, you may want to consider reading our Mind Lab Pro review – that might be what you’re looking for.
However, if you choose to “Upgrade Yourself®” as Performance Lab say, I recommend that you try the stack I’m on. You get a huge discount on bulk purchases (10% off every 3 boxes of each product), a 30 day money back guarantee and free shipping over $200.00.
Side Effects: Is it safe?
As far as we’re aware, this nootropic hasn’t been reported to have any side effects in users. However, everyone reacts differently to different products.
Performance Lab Mind is the cleanest nootropic we’ve seen on the market. The chances of it causing side effects are slim, however we would advise that you should only use supplements if you are over the age of 18, not undergoing pregnancy and don’t have any preexisting conditions which may be affected by the use of supplements.
We are not doctors. If you have any concerns about your health when it comes to supplements, always speak to your doctor or a medical expert beforehand. Your health comes first.
Conclusion: Should you buy it?
Performance Lab Mind is a fantastic nootropic supplement. It’s good for memory retention, focus, brain energy, brain function and even general long-term brain health. All the ingredients are backed by clinical trials and from personal experience they work exceedingly well.
There’s a combination of winning factors in this supplement stack which could help enhance your cognition. It’s also a great foundation to build a promising stack on.
I personally really enjoy using a combination of Performance Lab products for a great overall stack. I find the benefits are much more noticeable.
If you’re looking to get into a serious natural nootropic stack and taking your supplement game to the next level, I highly recommend that you try Performance Lab Mind.
