This is my personal Performance Lab Sleep review, and it’s currently my favorite sleep aid. I’ve been using it consistently for months now with my normal stack, and
Performance Lab claims that Sleep can help promote:
- Drowsiness via Melatonin and signalling Serotonin.
- Fights jerks, spasms and involuntary movements overnight to keep you in a deep sleep.
- Speeds up onset sleep by promoting full body relaxation.
- Helps recovery by supporting cell renewal.
- Sleep quality.
But how does it do this, and how well?
In this review, I’ll be answering all the main questions that are typically asked about this product as well as my experience and what else you should know when it comes to Performance Lab Sleep.
Here’s what you need to know:

How to Use Performance Lab Sleep: What do you do?
To use Performance Lab Sleep, take 2 capsules 30 minutes before going to bed.
If you’re suffering from jet-lag, or some recent changes to your sleep schedule and need to get back on track, using 4 capsules 30 minutes before going to sleep can be more effective.
I’ve done both methods (two capsules and four capsules) and you can read more about my experiences later on.
Performance Lab Sleep Ingredients: What’s in this supplement?
Here are the three ingredients in Performance Lab Sleep:
- Magnesium+ (as Magnesium Bisglycinate, Magnesium Taurate, NutriGenesis Magnesium) – 100 mg
- CherryPURE (Whole Montmorency Tart Cherry) (Prunus Cerasus) (Fruit) (50:1 Concentrated Ratio) – 500 mg
- TryptoPure L-Tryptophan – 250 mg
Although there are only three ingredients in this sleep aid, Performance Lab Sleep spares no expense when it comes to quality. At the moment, I believe it to be the most effective natural sleep aid on the market.
Below, we’ll look closer at the ingredients in Performance Lab Sleep and what seems to make them so effective – this is what you need to know:
Magnesium+ (NutriGenesis, Bisglycinate & Taurate)
Magnesium is one of the key minerals when it comes to getting good quality sleep. Although it has numerous functions in your body, when it comes to rest and recovery, it can really have an impact.
Here’s some of the main reasons I like when sleep aids contain magnesium:
It can help stop you from waking up overnight.
Magnesium can help calm nerve impulses across your neuromuscular junctions. These impulses can lead to twitches, and jerks that you commonly see and experience when sleeping.
The problem with these movements is that they can displace you to a point where it wakes you up. Then once you’re awake, it can be hard to get back to sleep again.
Magnesium can help you get to sleep faster.
Another benefit that magnesium has it that it can sooth muscles and promote body relaxation. In addition this also helps promote a gradual drop in blood pressure. Both these things are sleep inducing, you’re more relaxed and your blood pressure lowers to get your system poised and ready for you to fall asleep.
People don’t get enough magnesium.
Research has shown that up to 60% of most adults don’t get enough daily magnesium from their diet – this magnesium deficiency can lead to sleep problems. Sometimes this can happen when they don’t even realize it, cheaper multivitamins that contain minerals like magnesium are sometimes hard to absorb with only 30 – 40% of it being bioavailable for your body to absorb.
With that in mind Performance Lab Sleep goes the extra mile compared to other sleep supplements to make their magnesium easier to absorb. Using their patented Nutrigenesis model, Performance Lab grow nature-identical magnesium in probiotic cultures. This makes identical to what would occur in nature, making it far easier for your body to absorb.
Not only that, there’s 2 other forms of Magnesium in here: Bisglycinate and Taurate. Bisglycinate is easier for your body to absorb in the intestines, whereas Taurate promotes your brain’s relaxation chemical GABA to help you get to sleep faster.
CherryPURE (Whole Montmorency Tart Cherry)
This may be the best option in Performance Lab Sleep supplement. Why? Because tart cherry is a great source of natural melatonin. It’s great for boosting your levels of your body’s natural sleep hormone, which can give you the following benefits:
Montmorency Tart Cherry can help you sleep faster.
The melatonin in CherryPURE can help give you the sedating effects of darkness to help give you a faster onset sleep. Not only that, it can help keep your melatonin levels at optimum levels which can fight any disruptions you get from blue light.
It may help you get deep sleep for longer.
CherryPURE’s melatonin benefits are even good for helping with your circadian rhythm. The circadian rhythm is your body’s innate sleeping pattern, if that is off-set you’re not going to have a good quality sleep. By getting that back on track by supplying your body with more natural melatonin – your overall quality of sleep has the help to improve.
The Tart Cherry also contains anthocyanin antioxidants which can help sooth pains in muscles and joints. This can help you feel more comfortable to stop you waking up in the middle of the night.
Performance Lab Sleep does to use CherryPURE due to its potency: it’s a 50:1 extract, meaning it’s so potent that 500 mg of CherryPURE delivers the equivalent of 25 g of Montmorency Tart Cherries – giving you a nice amount of Melatonin to help you drift off to sleep with better sleep quality.
TryptoPure L-Tryptophan
This is the final ingredient we’re covering in this Performance Labs review, and a great amino acid for encouraging better sleep quality. The main benefit of L-Tryptophan is that it can help fight stress – which is typically one of the bigger causes of a poor sleep schedule.
There are several ways which L-Tryptophan can help improve your sleep. We’ll discuss them below:
L-Tryptophan can put you in a better mindset.
After you consume L-Tryptophan, it is converted by your body, it is converted by your brain into 5-HTP, which is the precursor to sertonin. As, we know, serotonin is your brain’s main hormone for relaxation, good moods and generally getting you into that happy mindset which is more susceptible to sleep.
Not only that, serotonin is also eventually converted into melatonin.
It ramps up your body’s melatonin production.
This is a big one. L-Tryptophan also converts in your body’s GI tract into the sleep hormone melatonin. While doing this it can also help to optimize your body’s natural production of melatonin in the pineal gland. This means you’re not only getting more melatonin in your system from the Tart Cherry, but that your body is actually producing more from the support it’s getting from the other nutrients in Performance Lab Sleep.
Bonus Info: Magnesium and L-Tryptophan in Performance Lab Sleep
Remember when I said, L-Tryptophan converts into serotonin? Magnesium is a cofactor in this process. That means giving yourself a good supply of mangesium with L-Tryptophan can help the conversion run smoother.
This can be great for both improving your mood and overall sleep.

Performance Lab Sleep Side Effects: Is it safe to use?
There have been no reported side effects from those using Performance Lab Sleep reviews. If you have any concerns about taking this sleep aid, you should speak to your doctor, or medical expert before using this.
Performance Lab avoids a lot of the typical risks you have with melatonin / sleep supplements by giving this product a natural source of melatonin. Most other sleep aids use synthetic melatonin which can cause problems such as grogginess, irritability and generally less refreshed in the morning.
I personally haven’t experienced any side effects using it – nor have I read any reports of it causing problems from those taking these sleep supplements. You should be fine to take this – especially with the lengths Performance Lab have gone through to make this supplement so clean. If you have any concerns – always consult a doctor first.
Performance Lab Sleep Review: My Experience
Every night before going to bed, I have Performance Lab Sleep – and I’ve yet to see it fail me. I’ve tried numerous sleep aids too – melatonin supplements, sleepy time teas, Valerian root and I’ve not found anything quite as effective.
Melatonin supplements do have their advantages, but I usually find myself waking up groggy and a bit disorientated in the morning. I put this down to them being too potent.
With Performance Lab Sleep, I definitely don’t get those effects. I pop two capsules with a small glass of water just before bed.
Here’s how it usually goes for me with two capsules:
Before Performance Lab, I would typically lie in bed for 30 – 90 minutes, tossing, turning and generally just unable to sleep. Now I feel I can drift off quite easily shortly after getting into bed.
I think the best way to describe it is that my sleep feels a lot deeper. I fall asleep and I’m dead to the world until my alarm. No crazy, middle-of-the-night wake-ups where I can’t get back to sleep, I’m asleep for as long as I need to be.
The morning after is great too. I can tell I’ve had a restful sleep as I don’t feel groggy in the morning. I feel energized and ready to start my day.
Here’s what happens when I take four capsules:
There’s only a few times that I do this a year:
- Jet Lag – If I’m traveling a lot, my sleep schedule is all over the place,
- Overworking – If I work a lot of late hours, I’ll do this to get myself back on track.
If my sleep schedule is all over the place and I’ll switch it up and take 4 capsules in one night. I’ll stay awake for as long as it takes until gets to a back to a good scheduled time (e.g. 10pm) and then I’ll go to sleep with 4 capsules in me.
With 4 capsules, I feel like I can sleep 8 hours, not matter what’s going on. There’s no waking up at irregular times like I normally do with jet-lag, it’s just a sound restful sleep right up to the alarm going off.
I find it’s a great tool when I’m traveling to a new place, or returning home and I just want to get back on track fast. It knocks me out hard, and I wake up feeling refreshed and ready to go. Zero grogginess.
Would I recommend Performance Lab Sleep?
If you want a natural sleep aid, and don’t want to risk the grogginess from synthetic melatonin supplements, I would recommend Performance Lab Sleep. I’ve had great results from taking it, and highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking to have an effective and natural-fueled sleep.
My Performance Lab Productivity Stack
If you’ve read some of my other work – you’ll already know I’m a huge fanboy for the Performance Lab series. They’re products are so clean and so easy to stack together, that I’ve cherry picked a few that I like to use on a daily basis.
I try to “open source” my stack as much as possible so everyone can benefit – I keep making Performance Lab reviews (and other supplement reviews) whenever I can to give my experiences.
Here’s a rundown of the main Performance Lab products that I use (each linked to my personal Performance Lab review):
- Performance Lab Mind – All purpose nootropic stack.
- Performance Lab Stim – Caffeine supplement for morning.
- Performance Lab Energy – Caffeine-Free energy boost stack in the afternoon.
- Performance Lab MCT – Daily dietary fats.
- Performance Lab Sleep – Rest and recovery stack that you’re reading now!
I take these supplements on a daily basis. I also use their multivitamin too, however, I don’t think that’s a supplement I could say helps my productivity. It’s more for general health.

Where can I buy Performance Lab Sleep?
Performance Lab Sleep can only be bought from PerformanceLab.com. That means you won’t be finding it on Amazon, GNC, or any of the other big online retail brands for supplements.
It currently retails on their website for $39.00 a bottle, which works out roughly to $1.30 per serving. It’s way cheaper than a cup of coffee – and definitely much better for your health.
There’s also great discounts if you buy numerous bottles too. Getting a 3 month supply for $117.00 also gives you an extra bottle of Performance Lab Sleep for free. This works out at $29.25 a bottle, which is $0.98 a serving – less than a dollar for a sound night’s sleep.
There’s also a 30 day money back guarantee on this too, in case you really didn’t like the experience.
Performance Lab Sleep Coupon Code: Is there one?
There are currently no coupons or discount codes for Performance Lab Sleep.
However, when I was buying some last year, however, I do know as someone who buys from Performance Lab regularly that they do participate in Black Friday with some crazy deals. So keep an eye out for that if you’re reading this around that time.
Performance Lab Sleep Summary – Is it worth it?
If you struggle to fall asleep, and don’t want to down the drug route to improve your quality of sleep, I highly recommend that you try out Performance Lab Sleep. It’s natural, clean, vegan-friendly and I’ve found it to be very effective.
The Tart Cherry that packs the natural melatonin, is a great addition to this sleep supplement, as well as the amino acid Tryptophan. All without any reports of side effects.
