How much MCT Oil should a new user take daily?
A beginner should start small, with around 1 teaspoon of MCT oil per day.
The idea of this is to test how you respond to using MCT oil. If you’re going to have a bad reaction – it’s best to find out on a small amount rather than on a big one.
That said, getting side effects from MCT oil is extremely unlikely.
If you’re new to MCT oil, you should start small and then build up to a regular dose over the course of a week.
For example, take 1 teaspoon in the first 1 – 2 days. On the third day, look to increase this to 2 teaspoons. After a week, see how you handle 1 tablespoon a day of MCT oil.
If you feel like your stomach cannot handle this, feel free to dial it back to a level that you’re more comfortable with.
How much MCT oil should a regular user take daily?
If you’re already taking around 1 tablespoon a day of MCT oil and want to take it to the next level, you could up it to 2 servings a day.
As MCT oil doesn’t need cycling, your body shouldn’t have a problem if you increase your intake to two servings of MCT oil a day.
There are several ways that you can do this. For instance, you can put MCT oil in your coffee in a morning which can help give your brain that extra ketone power in the morning.
Whereas later on in the day you can add it to a pre workout stack before you go in the gym, or pour some into a midday health smoothie.
There’s plenty of ways that can help you work MCT oil into your daily routine for a second serving.
Can you have too much MCT oil in a day?
You absolutely can have too much daily MCT oil. This is down to the nature of MCT oil being a very easy to absorb fat.
If you have too much of it in one take, your body will struggle to take it all on, and this will result in digestive stress.
This can cause several digestive issues such as diarrhea, stomach pains, and a generally upset stomach.
To avoid this problem, just know your limits with MCT oil. Start small and be sure to note how your body responds increasing the daily amount of MCT oil that you consume.
Summary: How much MCT oil should you take on a daily basis?
If you’re new to MCT oil: take 1 teaspoon of MCT and work your way up to 1 tablespoon over time. If you’ve been taking MCT oil for a while you can consume 1 tablespoon a day, or even 2 tablespoons a day depending on your preference.
As long as you start with small dosages and work your way up, you should be able to get comfortable with taking 2 tablespoons of MCT oil daily.
